Photo apps for smartphones – which you should have

The rapid development of the smartphone market has led to the fact that today literally everyone can say that „We are all photographers” (With this particular slogan I will not agree – this is a subject for another felieton). I give you the most handy guide to photo applications that you should have on your phone. All apps are able to download for free.

Snapseed. Google’s app. Intuitive menu allows you to easily navigate through a large number of settings.”Overexposure” and „Curves” options deserves attention. Anyone who has ever had to deal with Camera Raw in Photoshop knows what it is all about. We can manually set the lights and shadows, contrasting the picture according to your requirements. I strongly recommend using curves in b&w.

Color Pop. Very simple application for creating graphic designs. We point the areas in which the color is set to be preserved or remain black and white. The effect can be reversed, and the size of the marker remains to user’s full control. When we use microscopic size of the brush, we get a box with an approximation of the highlighted field.

Movie FX Photo Editor. Just for fun application which give you an opportunity to add a variety of graphics to the photo.  User can control the effect, place and size. We can choose graphics from wide selection of explosions, falling meteorites, helicopters, tornados, UFOs, lightning bolts and ghosts. My personal favorite is T-REX. Unfortunately the big minus of the application are large amounts of ads.

Faceapp. I would say that this is app is also just for fun. But to be honest – I am really scared of what this application can do. Seriously! You take/upload picture of you, then you choose one of the filters. You can become younger, older or even add a realistic smile on your face.

Really, really spooky stuff.

Exsate Golden Hour Application is adressed for the pro’s. You will not find here any filters, faders or frames in it. The program provides invaluable information about the color of light that will appear during the day and during which hours it will occur. In the menu we have  e.g „Golden Hour”, „Blue Hour”. We can easily check a summary in the table or diagram. The built-in Open Weather plugin updates weather in real-time. Also worth mentioning is the map where the angles of sunlight, the moon, are shown.
